Welcome
Welcome to EWH at Yale's website! We are the Yale chapter of the international organization Engineering World Health, a non-profit that helps mobilize the biomedical engineering community to improve the quality of health care in hospitals and clinics that serve resource-poor communities of the developing world.
We are currently working on an application to help assess dehydration in infants, tailored specifically for use in disadvantaged communities. Check out our blog to see our progress and look below for the team that makes it happen! If you're interested in joining or would like to partner with us or suggest a project, please click here to contact us.
Our Team
Claudia See
President
B.S., Biomedical Engineering '17
As a biomedical engineering major and President of EWH, Claudia is really excited about building medical devices! She currently works in a cardiovascular biomechanics lab, imaging cool-looking pictures from mice aortas. On campus, she is also involved in the Yale Journal of Medicine and Law and Yale Students for Christ. In her free time, you might hear her attempting to learn harmonica.
Emon Datta
Vice President
B.S., Computer Science '18
Emon is a sophomore from California's Bay Area pursuing computer science as a major. She is also interested in public policy and improving quality of life for disadvantaged and minority groups, particularly people with developmental disabilities. She is additionally involved with Students for Autism Awareness and the Community Based Learning program at Yale.
Tyler Caldwell
Treasurer
Undecided '18
From Oklahoma City, Tyler is potentially majoring in economics or "Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology," and is currently hoping to attend medical school. He is involved with Bulldogs Racing, a Yale team designing and building a high-performance hybrid race car. In his free time, Tyler enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and investing in equities.
Kevin is a biomedical engineering major and a senior in Ezra Stiles College. Outside of EWH, he is a part of the Vietnamese Students Association and the residential college orchestra scene at Yale.
When he's not headdesk-ing over biokinetics problem sets, he enjoys taking photos, making music, and finding good food.
